Preparation:

• Ensure the scaler tip is securely attached to the ultrasonic scaler and compatible with UDS or EMS systems

Patient Positioning:

Setting the Scaler:

• Turn on the ultrasonic scaler and adjust the power settings based on the level of calculus present.  Start with a lower setting to gauge comfort

Application Technique:

Movement:

Cleaning:

Post-Use:

• After scaling, clean and sterilize the scaler tip according to standard protocols to ensure hygiene and longevity of the instrument
