  • Preparation: Before starting the extraction procedure, ensure that the patient's medical history has been reviewed, and appropriate anesthesia has been administered if necessary. Also, make sure that all necessary instruments, including the Waldent Extraction Forceps Kit, are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Select the Appropriate Forceps: Identify the tooth to be extracted and select the corresponding forceps from the Waldent Extraction Forceps Kit based on the tooth type and location.
  • Positioning: Properly position the patient in the dental chair for optimal access and visibility. Use mouth props or other devices as needed to keep the patient's mouth open and stable during the procedure.
  • Exposure: Use a mouth mirror and appropriate retractors to ensure adequate visibility of the tooth and surrounding tissues.
  • Grasping the Tooth: Hold the selected forceps in your dominant hand and grasp the tooth firmly near the cervix, ensuring a secure grip on the tooth's crown.
  • Luxation: Apply controlled rocking and rotational movements to loosen the tooth from its socket. Use gentle pressure to avoid damaging surrounding tissues.
  • Extraction: Once the tooth is sufficiently loosened, exert controlled force in the direction of the tooth's long axis to extract it from the socket. Use steady, even pressure to prevent fracturing the tooth or causing undue trauma to the surrounding bone and soft tissues.
  • Assessment: After the tooth has been removed, inspect the socket for any remaining root fragments or debris. Use appropriate instruments to remove any residual material if necessary.
  • Post-Extraction Care: Provide post-operative instructions to the patient, including information on proper oral hygiene and any necessary follow-up appointments. Monitor the patient for any signs of complications, such as excessive bleeding or swelling.
  • Instrument Maintenance: After the procedure, clean the Waldent Extraction Forceps thoroughly according to established sterilization protocols. Ensure that the forceps are properly sterilized and stored for future use.
