  • Preparation: Prepare the tooth for restoration by removing any decay or damaged tooth structure. Clean the tooth and surrounding area thoroughly.
  • Mixing: Mix the Shofu Zirconomer Improved powder and liquid instructions. The mixing time is typically 10-15 seconds.
  • Placement: Place the mixed Shofu Zirconomer Improved into the prepared cavity using a suitable instrument. It is important to work quickly as the material will begin to set within a few minutes.
  • Condensation: Use a suitable instrument to condense the Shofu Zirconomer Improved and ensure it is evenly distributed within the cavity. It is important to avoid overfilling the cavity as this may result in excess material and potential occlusal interferences.
  • Finishing: Once the material has set, finish and polish the restoration using a suitable polishing system. It is important to avoid over-polishing as this may reduce the material's strength and wear resistance.
  • High strength and durability like Silver amalgam with protective benefits of glassionomer
  • Improved edge strength and marginal adaptation
  • High translucency, flexural modulus and compressive strength
  • Improved mixing and handling characteristics
  • Excellent resistance to abrasion and erosion
  • Remarkable radiopacity
  • Sustained high fluoride release for anti-cariogenic benefits especially in cases with high caries risk
  • Exceptional for minimally invasive procedures as it chemically bonds to enamel and dentin while displaying tooth-like co-efficient of thermal expansion, which results in low interfacial stresses and minimizes potential for failure
  • Packable and condensable like amalgam without the hazard of mercury or the risk of corrosion, expansion and thermal conductivity
  • For class i & ii, structural base in sandwich restorations, core build-up, root surfaces where overdentures rest, in both pediatric and geriatic cases, as long-term temporary for fractured cusps & fractures amalgam restoratios as well as in ART techniques.

Description

Zirconomer Improved reinforced Glass Ionomer with special zirconia fillers defines a new class of restorative that promises the strength and durability of amalgam with the protective benefits of glass ionomer while completely eliminating the hazards of mercury while proviing sustained fluoride protection. Ideal for a range of restorations including permanent posterior restorative in patients with high risk as well as cases requiring strong structural cores and bases.

Superior Mechanical Properties

Zirconomer Improved outperforms restorative reinforced glass ionomer in stress bearing posterior restorations with notably high compressive strength and dimensional stability for long-lasting performance.

Remarkable Translucency

Zirconomer Improved is formulated with zirconia nano fillers that impart high level of translucency for a closer match to natural tooth colour, ideal even for cores
requiring coverage with high end all-ceramic restoration.

INDICATIONS

  • Class I and II cavities in deciduous teeth
  • Class I and II restoration in selected permanent teeth
  • Repair of amalgam restored teeth when either tooth or restoration has fractured
  • In all classes of cavities where radiopacity is a prime requirement
  • Core build-up
  • Repair of crown margins
