• Begin by cleaning the gold surface to be polished using a prophy cup and pumice. Rinse the surface thoroughly and dry it.
• Select the appropriate polishing instrument from the kit based on the type of gold alloy being used and the desired level of finish.
• Apply a small amount of the polishing paste or compound to the polishing instrument.
• Use the polishing instrument to polish the gold surface using light to moderate pressure. The polishing instrument should be moved in a back-and-forth motion to achieve a uniform finish.
• After the desired level of polishing has been achieved, rinse the gold surface thoroughly to remove any excess polishing paste or compound.
• Repeat the polishing process with the next polishing instrument in the sequence, working from coarse to fine grits, until the desired level of shine is achieved.
• After the final polishing step, rinse the gold surface thoroughly and dry it.
• Inspect the gold surface to ensure that the desired level of shine has been achieved. If necessary, repeat the polishing process with a finer grit polishing instrument.
