  • Transfer a portion of the solution from the bottle to a disposable syringe fitted with a disposable needle.
  • Insert the needle into the root canal until resistance is felt, then withdraw approximately 2mm.
  • Slowly inject the solution into the canal to irrigate debris and chelate the canal walls.
  • Avoid injecting the solution beyond the apex of the canal.
  • Do not return any dispensed material to the original container
  • 17% solution and neutral pH cleanses root canals rapidly
  • Removes Inorganic substances like dentinal chips & facilitates their easy removal by chelation of calcium ions.
  • Effective in the removal of the smear layer & unplugging of dentinal tubules - enhances adhesion filling material like a sealer.

Description

Prevest EDTA Liquid Solution is a 17% EDTA solution with a water base indicated for canal cleaning, smear layer removal, and debridement during chemical & mechanical preparation of root canals. Prevest EDTA 17% eases instrumentation and smear layer removal in chemo-mechanical root canal preparation. It is used for root canal irrigation, removal of debris and rinsing. Ethylenediamide tetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a chelating agent which combines with the calcium ion and inactivates it, thereby exerting its decalcifying effect on dentine. EDTA is active on the inorganic part of the smear layer and must be used alternatively with Sodium Hypochlorite solution to complete its dissolution.

INDICATIONS :

  • Rapid root canal cleansing and shaping during instrumentation.
  • Helpful in opening calcified root canals.
  • Used for Unclog Dentinal tubules.
  • Used for Debridement of canals
