  • Clean the teeth to be treated with a fluoride-free cleaning paste.
  • Using a minimally invasive technique/adhesive filling technique is recommended to preserve healthy tooth substance.
  • Cleaning and drying the cavity has to be carried out with special preparations (e.g., hydrogen peroxide solution). Observe instructions for use when applying the bonding materials.
  • Apply pulp protection when working in close proximity to the pulp. Lining deep cavities with a glass ionomer cement is recommended due to its release of fluoride.
  • Bevel enamel margins and etch for 20 - 30 sec (Actino). Then thoroughly rinse and dry. Do not etch dentine for
more than 15 sec when using the “total-etch-technique”.
  • Use a suitable dental adhesive according to the instructions for use. Mix equal quantities of Self Comp base and catalyst paste on the mixing pad with a spatula for approx. 15 - 30 sec until homogeneous.
  • Do not use the same end for base and catalyst paste as, dispensing of base/catalyst from their respective jars with same end of mixing spatula might lead to premature setting.
  • Dry the cavity before application. The working time of Self Comp is approx. 2 min and the setting time is 3-4 min.
  • Do not move strips or matrix during this time. Remove any large areas of excess material with diamond bur. Using discs of graduated grains or a finishing diamond (lingual, palatinal area) is recommended for finishing. Diamond metal strips are suited for the approximal area.
  • Then polish with a suitable polishing paste.
  • A fluoride varnish should be applied to all treated teeth to support re-mineralization.
  • The dispensed material shall not be placed back in container and the dose once applied and used shall not be reused.
  • High compressive and tensile strengths.
  • High polishability for aesthetic appeal.
  • Superior abrasive resistance for durability.
  • High degree of conversion for effective curing.
  • Superior marginal adaptability to prevent leakage.
  • Suitable for various dental applications including small class-I cavities and core build-ups.
  • Universal shade (A2) for versatility in patient treatments.
