Materials with eugenol may hinder the polymerization of GLUMA Bond Universal.
GLUMA Bond Universal is light-curing and should be shielded from ambient light to prevent premature curing.
Avoid treating the surfaces of zirconium and aluminum oxide ceramic with phosphoric acid.
Refrain from using products containing EDTA or hydrogen peroxide, as residues may compromise adhesion and curing reactions. GLUMA Desensitizer and chlorhexidine solutions are recommended alternatives.
Preparation:
- Isolation: Ensure proper isolation of the treatment area to maintain a dry field.
- Cleaning: Clean and prepare the tooth surface according to standard dental procedures.
Application Steps:
For Self-Etch Technique:
- Single Step Process: Apply GLUMA Bond Universal, which combines etching, priming, bonding, and desensitization in a single step.
- Agitation: Agitate the adhesive on the prepared tooth surface for uniform coverage.
- Air-Dry: Use an air syringe to gently air-dry the adhesive. The unique moisture control system aids in achieving optimal drying conditions.
For Selective Etch Technique:
- Enamel Etching: Apply phosphoric acid selectively on enamel for maximum adhesion.
- Application: Apply GLUMA Bond Universal on the etched enamel and the rest of the tooth surface.
- Agitation and Air-Dry: Follow the same steps as the self-etch technique.
For Etch & Rinse (Total-Etch) Technique:
- Phosphoric Acid Etching: Etching both enamel and dentin with phosphoric acid.
- Rinse and Dry: Rinse off the acid, and gently air-dry the tooth surface.
- Application: Apply GLUMA Bond Universal to the prepared tooth surfaces.
- Agitation and Air-Dry: Ensure uniform coverage by agitating and air-drying as per the self-etch technique.
Universal Application Tips:
- Adhesive Amount: Utilize the exclusive drop control feature to apply the necessary amount of adhesive.
- Light Curing: After application, light cures the adhesive according to standard curing protocols.
- Post-Application Steps: Follow the specific indications, such as placing direct restorations, sealing cavities, or cementing indirect restorations, based on the treatment plan.
Precautions:
- Allergies: Be aware of contraindications for individuals with known or suspected allergies to (meth)acrylate compounds.
- Pulp Protection: Avoid direct contact with exposed pulp tissue during application.
